Because your gift is given consistently, you won't need to play "catch-up" at year-end or worry about forgotten checkbooks or missed Sunday offerings.
But you're not the only one that benefits. Your congregation benefits from steady, more predictable revenues throughout the year, more efficient bookkeeping and greater confidence in meeting its financial commitments.
This method uses Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), the same method by which many of us already receive funds or pay bills. EFT transfers your gift from your checking or savings account directly into Messiah’s checking account. You determine the amount. You also determine the schedule; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. And it’s free, there is no fee to either the giver or Messiah. How can that be? All fees required by Vanco Services, a specialized company handling the EFT, are paid for us by Thrivent Financial.
Enrollment is easy. Just click the link below to download the form or pick one up from the table in the Narthex and complete the “Lutheran Congregation Donations” section. Seal in an envelope and place in Anne Hayton’s mailbox on the outside of the church office door. Nobody else at Messiah will ever see the form. That makes EFT even more confidential than our usual method of giving, in which our numbered envelope and its contents must later be reviewed and recorded by those doing the weekly “counting”.
No need to worry that you will be “locked in for life” if you use EFT. Changing is as easy as enrollment. Just pick up a duplicate of the original form, fill in the new dates and numbers, turn it in. You’re done. If you want to discontinue using EFT just call the church office, ask for Anne, and she will immediately discontinue the service.
